Ok, so i've been a long time user of AOL ... well, that's where I started with the internet ... I first got internet access when AOL 2.5 first came out ... many years ago. I used AOL for like 8 years, then we got RoadRunner cable modem and I said "GoodBye"! to AOL for a long time. I then started using AIM... I had a certain screenname that will remain secret. I had this screen name for 6 years, until two days ago. I had just laid down to go to sleep, and I hear a noise from my computer ... so I get up and look and AIM is disconnected ... it says that I have been signed on in another location... so I try to sign on, and it says my password is incorrect.

So, I'm getting pissed off, because I KNOW MY PASSWORD! Anyways, It's 2 am and I'm tired as hell ... so I request my password .. and it's some funky email .. not the usual email that says your password is "blahblah" instead it says the following:

This is an automatically-generated response from the AOL Instant Messenger(SM)
service.  The information you requested is "

@

".

::: Did you know that you can use your AIM(SM) service screen name to sign onto
other great AOL Web Products? :::

So, I tell my friend, 'steve' and he's trying to help me, and he finds out it's some new hack to allow multi-line passwords.. which apparantly has been around on ICQ for ages now. To make a long story short, why the hell is AIM so insecure? I contacted the help department, and they said that they can't get my screenname back, because it's a free-service .. which I think is bullshit .. but hey, who am I to tell them what's right or wrong.

Just from the title, I had hoped you were going to talk about M.O.D.O.K.
Ah, well.
